APPEAL: Missing Stone Roses fan

By Dean Wilkins

The Stone Roses are appealing for help to find a missing fan who was last seen at their Manchester Heaton Park gig on Friday.

Christopher Brahney, 22, went to the band’s first gig of the weekend with friends but has not been seen since 11.30pm.

Police believe the bar worker may have used Bowlee Park’s Park and Ride facility, on Heywood Old Road, and band members Ian Brown, Mani, Reni and John Squire are urging people to join the search.

The Stone Roses said: "If you saw Christopher at the end of the evening please get in touch with Greater Manchester Police and spread the word to everyone who came to the show.

“Our thoughts are with Christopher's family and we all want to see him back at home safe and sound."

Mr Brahney is white of slim build, with short brown hair.

He was last seen wearing a dark blue top, light blue shirt, maroon trousers and green wellington boots.

Detective Chief Inspector Melani Linton said: "Christopher's family are clearly very worried about him and are desperate for any information relating to his whereabouts.

"We believe Chris may have used the park and ride facility at Bowlee Park, Heywood Old Road, Middleton. There were dozens of coaches in the car park with destinations all over the country.

"Chris could have got on one of these coaches, did you see him or speak to him?

"I would urge anyone with any information to contact the police, this could be vital to our investigation and provide some much needed answers for his family

"Christopher, if you see or hear this appeal, we would ask that you make contact with us or your family as soon as possible."

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 7652.
