The French may have missed out on hosting this summer’s Olympic Games but they’re certainly not going to let that stop them celebrating.
And in a very sportsman-like move, the Paris Ile-de-France Tourist Board is extending the hand of friendship to Great Britain by offering fans a chance to win a gourmet trip to the French capital.
The competition is quite simple, for every gold medal Team GB picks up at London 2012, one person will win outstanding a two-day mini-break in Paris and its region for two.
To enter this competition reserved exclusively for British citizens, all you need is a Facebook account: simply become a fan of the destination Paris Ile-de-France page and register for the competition via the Paris Tourisme page!
After registering, entrants must choose between the three types of weekend on offer. Each type allows them to discover a different side of the destination: Impressionism, contemporary/trendy or lifestyle.
Gastronomy will be the common theme of these mini-breaks, and all include return tickets from London to Paris on Eurostar.
Once in Paris, the lucky winners will be treated to the very best in culture and food that the city of love has to offer.

TRAVEL IN STYLE: Start your trip in a classic Citroen 2 CV
The treats on offer include a fascinating Citroen 2CV car tour to discover Paris in an original way, lunch and dinners in quality restaurants, a stop-off at the fabulous Galeries Lafayette department store where the winners will be presented with a gift card to be able to take advantage of even more shopping and a trip out of the city to one of the region’s beautiful surrounding towns and villages.
