MANCINI: Manager talks transfers

By Dean Wilkins

Roberto Mancini is refusing to admit to any interest linking Manchester City with Arsenal captain Robin van Persie.

The Blues’ boss refused to comment on the club’s transfer shopping list and said the Dutchman is still the Gunners’ main star.

Mancini also defused speculations linking unreliable forward Edin Dzeko away from the club with a move to Serie A giants Juventus.

He said: "Van Persie? He is an Arsenal player and I don't want to disrespect Wenger.

"We have four strikers and we will start the preseason in five days, it's unlikely there will be major changes in such a short time."

He added: "The same goes for Dzeko, his farewell is not expected.

"The interest of Juventus for him? It will be difficult that Edin goes away.”

The Italian also hoped to secure Aleksandar Kolarov’s future at the Etiha.

"Kolarov? I myself wanted him to City, he is a great player. If it depends on me, he would remain at the City. I'd love to have him again in the next season but I cannot impose myself on his will."

Mancini concluded his interview by claiming the ball is in Carlos Tevez’s court regarding a move away from the club after a horrendous season of controversy with the Premier League champions.

"Tevez will remain, unless he wants to change team," said Mancini.
