Manchester's Three Minute Theatre is welcoming the UK premiere of Shades of Diva.
The show promises to be a dragtastic journey back to 1978 and follows a drag queen recalling his repressed childhood as he figures out his glittering identity, much to the dismay of an overpowering mother.
Shades of Diva, written and directed by Lloyd Eyre-Morgan for in association with Dream Avenue and Three Minute Theatre tells the story if Adam, who, after being discovered dressing up in his mothers knickers and dress, runs away to a drag club in Brighton – never to return home again.
Lloyd said: “I promise tears, laughter and emotional punches! This one’s a diamond of a show.”
Professional Cher and Bette Midler impersonator Jonathan Booth will blow you away as Adam, the drag queen star of the show.
The show also boasts Manchester comedian Lee Peart as Adam’s best friend Dylan.
The show is a feel good musical drama which will have the audience dancing in the aisles, with cheeky humour (appropriate for ages 14+) and heart-felt Northern drama!
Expect outrageous musical numbers, laugh out loud moments and heart-felt drama.
The show is presented by the three minute theatre and dream avenue productions who have worked together for the past year with sell out acclaimed shows celluloid and queer as fringe.
Lloyd said that the show will encourage people to not be afraid of who you are.
He said: “The show will encourage people to your life without fear of judgement, be free and liberated; you can't fight who you are or let others stop you finding yourself.”
The show will be premiering at the Afflecks Arcade, Oldham Street on Wednesday 6 June at 7.30pm, and will run until 9 June.
