The Leader of Trafford Council's Labour Opposition is a mixture of nerves and excitement ahead of this evening's local election results.
After a busy day of campaigning to galvanise support and encourage voters to the ballots, Labour Councillor David Acton is quietly confident.
"We made two gains last year and we hope to improve on that, we are aiming for a steady in-road on the Tory majority," he said.
Labour believe they have received a serge of postal votes this year meaning some unexpected results may be announced shortly.
However, only half an hour ago the Council leader, Conservative Matthew Colledge, was openly confident about his party's success prior to the final count.
Speaking to MM, Cllr Colledge said: "I don't think there will be a change in power tonight, but we may possibly see some shift in ward control."
