A Stone Roses fan is missing after going with friends to the band’s first gig at Heaton Park, Manchester, on Friday.

Christopher Brahney, 22, Timperley, was last seen by friends at about 11.30pm on June 29 after watching the Madchester legends homecoming gig.

But the young man has not been seen since and concern is growing about his whereabouts.

Detective Inspector Deborah Oakes said: "Christopher's family are clearly very worried about him and are desperate for any information relating to his whereabouts.

"We would urge anyone who may have seen him to contact the police.

"Christopher, if you see or hear this appeal, we would ask that you make contact with us or the police as soon as possible."

Christopher is white of slim build, with short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a dark blue top, light blue shirt, maroon trousers and green wellington boots.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 7652.
