Manchester clubbers can dance away the winter blues in style this December as techno pioneer Richie Hawtin brings his Plastikman alter ego to town.
The set at the Manchester Academy on December 1 will be one of only three UK dates on Plastikman’s first ever standalone world tour.
Famed for his embrace of new technologies, Plastikman not only DJs but controls all aspects of his performance, including lighting and visuals.
iPhone owners can even participate in some real-time audience interaction by downloading the SYNK app, which lets them contribute and interact with the live performance.
“I’m incredibly excited to finally take Plastikman on its first standalone tour,” Hawtin said.
“The fall tour will be full of surprises, and the performance will continue to be spontaneous and unique for every show – the way I believe live music should be performed in 2011.”
The ‘One City’ tour will be the last chance for Manchester’s clubbing fraternity to see the 1.5 version of the ever-evolving show, before Hawtin and his team return to the studio to fine tune the 2.0 version.
