A Salford man admitted killing Indian student Anuj Bidve on Boxing Day last year, but denied murder in court today.

Kiaran Stapleton, 21, from Ordsall, Salford, admitted to manslaughter but denied murder at Manchester Crown Court this morning.

The prosecution has said it doesn't accept Stapleton's manslaughter plea and he will be tried for murder on June 25. The trial is expected to last three to four weeks.

Anuj Bidve, who was studying micro-electronics at Lancaster University, was shot dead in the early hours of Boxing Day last year.
